About the scholarship program

The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Program is QUT’s premier offering for high achievers. Two hundred Scholarships will be awarded annually to OP 1 to 2 students in the $2.3 million Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Program.

In addition to the financial support, the Program allows you to make the most of your QUT experience by excelling in your studies, and through extra development opportunities, to build your leadership skills and professional networks.

Value

Seventy scholarships, valued at up to $24 000 each (paid at $6000 per year for up to four years) and 125 scholarships, valued at $6000 each (paid at $2000 per semester over one-and-a-half years), will be awarded annually.

An additional five scholarships will be offered to high-achieving students who excel in sport. To be eligible for the sporting scholarships you must be competing at a national level and have achieved an OP 1 to 5 (or equivalent entry ranks). These scholarships are valued at up to $24 000 each (paid at $6000 per year for up to four years).

Benefits

As a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholar you will have access to benefits that will enhance your academic experience. You may like to extend your core studies by undertaking extra modules to develop your leadership or entrepreneurship skills. In the final year of your degree you can also be matched with an industry mentor who can guide you and provide encouragement in your chosen field of expertise. Further benefits will be offered throughout your time at QUT, to ensure you are prepared for the real world.

Additional benefits may include:

  • an accelerated program of study
  • early access to research opportunities
  • the opportunity to represent QUT through the Student Ambassador Program.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • be school leavers or those who have taken a break (for up to two years) from study after Year 12
  • be domestic students (Australian or New Zealand Citizens, permanent residents or holders of a permanent humanitarian visa) entering university for the first time on the basis of their Year 12 results
  • have achieved an OP of 1 or 2 (or equivalent for interstate high schools) or an OP 1 to 5 for applicants who excel in sports
  • have a portfolio, audition and/or interview, if required, for some courses. Please check the additional entry website for more information addentry.qut.com
