Terms and conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to this scholarship:

1. Closing date for applications is 28 November 2008. Late applications will not be accepted.

2. To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must have completed Year 12 within the previous two years and be entering University for the first time. The student must have achieved an OP of 1 or 2 (or equivalent for interstate high schools), or an OP 1 to 5 for applicants who also excel in sports.

3.The recipient must remain enrolled on a full-time basis at QUT for the duration of the scholarship. The recipient will also need to maintain a grade point average of 5 or more in any required coursework over a full academic year to maintain the scholarship for the following year.

4. After first semester students are able to take Leave of Absence for up to twelve months (in accordance with QUT Student Rules) and still retain the scholarship (for exemptions visit studentservices.qut.com/enrol/interrupt). Scholarship recipients are not able to defer their offer and still retain the scholarship.

5. The value of the full scholarship is $6000 per year, for the standard duration of the QUT course of study, up to a maximum of four years. The value of the part scholarship is $6000 total.

6. The full scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of $3000 per semester paid after the major semester census dates (normally March and August each year). The part scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of $2000 per semester over three semesters paid after the major semester census dates.

7. A QUT student is normally only permitted to hold one QUT scholarship at any one time.

8. Applications are open to domestic and international students who have completed their secondary studies in Australia.

9. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be advised by mail in late January 2009.
